KhakiBush BraaiBoss Challenge Fire Pit
Josh SpoonerKhakiBush needed a braai that four people could cook on at the same time, in front of a crowd, for their BraaiBoss Challenge. So we designed one: a custom steel fire pit with four cooking stations, plus a braai for every contestant's table and the clamp-on legs that turn a tabletop into a competition station.

One fire, four stations
The centrepiece is an octagonal steel fire pit, 1.5 m across, with one side for each contestant. A steel post stands at each corner and carries arms that hold octagonal grids and pans over the coals, so every cook has their own cooking space on the same shared fire.
The fire is built in the centre of the pit, and each contestant works the coals out to their own station as they need them. That's the bit we like most about it: four people, one fire, and nowhere to hide.
The PRETZEL and BRAAIBOSS CHALLENGE lettering is laser-cut straight through the steel sides, so the branding is part of the pit rather than a sticker that burns off after the first fire.

A braai on every table
Each contestant also gets their own table with a Pretzel braai on it, so there's a second heat source for whatever they don't want on the main fire. The tables stand on clamp legs we designed for the event: steel legs that clamp onto a tabletop, so KhakiBush can set up a full four-person competition kitchen at each show and pack it away again afterwards.

Built for the road
The setup travels with the competition, from the East Coast Radio House & Garden Show in Durban to the Royal Show and on to the final at the Great Outdoors Expo. You can read more about the challenge itself, and our partnership with KhakiBush, in our News post.
